What are the requirements to adopt?

We want every adoption to be a lasting, happy match. Our requirements are:

• Age — Adopters must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid ID — A government-issued ID is required to complete the adoption agreement.
• Stable living situation — You should have a home environment suitable for the animal you’re adopting (e.g., adequate space, safe fencing for dogs).
• Landlord permission — If you’re renting, written or verbal confirmation from your landlord that pets are allowed.
• Agreement to our terms — Signing our adoption contract, which includes a commitment to provide proper food, shelter, veterinary care, and love.

We do not discriminate based on housing type — apartment dwellers are welcome to adopt smaller animals! We assess each situation individually.
